Whether continuing your exploration of Cambodia or heading home, you disembark the RV Mekong Navigator with heartfelt memories of a voyage that opened windows into the soul of a country.

Morning

Depart at 10:15 from Siem Reap in the morning for a scenic drive across Cambodia’s countryside. Rolling fields and sleepy villages stretch out as far as the eye can see. Stop along the way for a traditional Cambodian lunch at a countryside restaurant before continuing your journey to Kang Meas Port.

Afternoon

Upon arrival at the pier, you’ll board the elegant RV Mekong Navigator, greeted with welcome drinks and warm smiles from the attentive crew. After settling into your spacious cabin, take a moment to relax as the ship becomes your floating sanctuary. As the sun sinks below the horizon, the ship sets sail at around 17:00, cruising gently to anchor near Opopel Village

Evening

This evening begins with a welcome reception, followed by a safety briefing and an introduction to your guides and crew. Gather in Le Marché Dining Room for a sumptuous multi-course Welcome Dinner, where Cambodian and international flavors meet.

Morning

Today offers a powerful and moving exploration of Cambodia’s modern history. After breakfast, embark on a 45-minute drive to Choeung Ek, one of the most notorious Killing Fields from the Khmer Rouge era. Walk among memorial stupas and quiet gardens, reflecting on the gravity of Cambodia’s past.

Then, continue to Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S-21), once a school turned into a detention center under the Khmer Rouge. Inside, stark photographs and preserved cells tell stories of unimaginable suffering—and a nation’s deep resilience.

Afternoon

Return to the ship for lunch and a free afternoon in Phnom Penh. Choose to rest onboard or explore the capital at your own pace. A complimentary shuttle coach is provided to the Central Market, where colorful stalls, street snacks, and vibrant energy await.

Awaken to soft golden light filtering through your cabin windows. After breakfast, disembark for a visit to Opopel Village, a quiet rural community nestled along the riverbanks. Walk past traditional stilt houses, where Brahmin cows graze under banana trees, and get a sense of everyday rhythms in the Cambodian countryside. 

Visit a local home and share a conversation with a welcoming family, then continue to the village school, where curious students greet you with wide smiles and boundless energy. A brief visit to the village monastery rounds out the morning—a place of spiritual refuge and quiet contemplation.

Return to the ship in time for lunch as it continues downstream to Wat Roka Kaong.

Afternoon

In the heat of the day, arrive at the sacred Wat Roka Kaong, a serene temple complex dating back to 1840. Once built from wood and later restored, the complex houses an emerald-colored statue uncovered during renovation, now giving the wat its second name, Wat Keo Moni Chort (Emerald Temple). 

Wander past the towering Golden Buddhist Columns, remnants of now-lost temples, and enter the beautifully painted Main Pagoda. Here, a traditional water blessing ceremony awaits—an age-old ritual conducted by resident monks, believed to bring good fortune and inner peace. The Mekong Navigator departs Wat Roka Kaong at 16:30 and sails towards Phnom Penh

As the sun lowers over the river, enjoy a relaxed dinner onboard. The ship continues its journey toward Phnom Penh, anchoring mid-river for the night beneath a starlit Cambodian sky.
