Morning

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on board as the Gypsy continues her peaceful journey along the upper Mekong to Ban Baw. Watch the morning mist rise from the riverbanks.

We arrive at Ban Baw and join a trip to a charming Khmu village known for its traditional craftsmanship and warm hospitality. Take a stroll through the village, observe local life, and perhaps see how the villagers make local products.

Return to the boat and set sail toward Pak Beng, cruising through dramatic limestone cliffs and dense tropical forests. Then, lunch is served on board, featuring a selection of Lao-inspired dishes prepared with fresh local ingredients.

Afternoon & Evening

The boat makes a short stop at Pak Beng for necessary port formalities. From here, take a brief city tour by taxi to explore the small riverside town, known for its laid-back charm and scenic views.

Afterward, we reboard the Gypsy and set sail to Ban Pak Nguey, gliding through one of the most picturesque stretches of the Mekong. The Gypsy anchors here for the second overnight stay.

Around dusk, you can gather for cocktails and canapés on the sundeck as the sun sets over the river. The crew will share details of the next day’s journey.

Then, savor a gourmet dinner on board, accompanied by fine wines and the soothing sounds of the Mekong. The bar remains open until late.

08:30: You will meet the Mekong Kingdom's representative at the car ferry and complete embarkation procedures. Settle in and get acquainted with the Gypsy’s cozy atmosphere and attentive crew.

Later, attend a short but essential safety briefing before your journey begins. Then, the cruise starts sailing upstream along the legendary Mekong River. Enjoy the serene morning views as lush greenery and riverside villages slowly unfold.



We stop at Ban Chang Hai, a small riverside village known for its local charm. Take a leisurely stroll and observe daily life along the riverbanks.

Continue to the Pak Ou Caves, one of Laos’ most iconic spiritual sites. Here, thousands of Buddha images fill the limestone grottoes, offering a deeply atmospheric and sacred experience.

Return to the boat for a freshly prepared lunch on board, while the Gypsy continues its gentle cruise upstream. Relax on the sundeck or in the lounge as the Mekong’s tranquil scenery drifts by.

The boat sets sail toward Ban Had Tue, where it will anchor for the night. Watch the sunset cast golden hues over the river and nearby mountains.

We will gather for a cocktail party at dusk and a casual briefing about the next day’s itinerary.

Afterward, enjoy a BBQ dinner under the stars, followed by a relaxing evening on board. The bar remains open until late, perfect for a quiet drink and conversation before resting for the night.

Begin your day with a hearty breakfast on board as the Gypsy continues her serene upstream journey. The morning offers time to relax and take in the ever-changing landscapes of the Mekong River.

Sail toward Ban Keang Lare, where you’ll disembark to visit a local village. Wander through the village lanes and gain insight into the daily lives and traditions of this ethnic community, known for its close connection to the forest and the river.

Continue cruising toward Ban Houay Nor Khom, with lunch served on board as the boat glides past pristine jungle and limestone formations.

Afternoon & Evening

Upon arrival, we visit a Hmong village, where you can meet locals in traditional attire and learn about their distinctive culture and customs.

In the late afternoon, the cruise proceeds to Ban Houay Surk, another peaceful riverside village. Here, guests are welcomed with a traditional Baci Ceremony, an intimate Lao ritual symbolizing good fortune, health, and safe travels.



The Gypsy will anchor overnight at Ban Houay Surk, offering a calm and authentic setting to end the day. Enjoy a delicious dinner on board, then unwind at the bar or relax in your cabin.

Enjoy your final breakfast on board as the Gypsy sails toward the lively border town of Houay Sai. Relax on the deck and take in the last mesmerizing views of the Mekong’s misty banks and tranquil villages.

Upon arrival at Houay Sai District, disembark and transfer by minivan for a short city tour, where you can explore the local market and get a final glimpse of daily life along the river.

Savor a farewell lunch at a local restaurant, reflecting on the journey’s unforgettable landscapes and warm encounters.

After lunch, continue to the Laos immigration checkpoint at 13:00 to complete exit formalities and purchase your bus ticket. Then, cross the bridge into Chiang Khong, Thailand, where your memorable Mekong River adventure comes to an end.
