Morning
Around 8:00, our guide will pick you up from your hotel and bring you to the Angkor temple complex.
First, let’s come to the ancient capital of Angkor Thom. You can admire the South Gate, which features enormous statues showing the churning of an ocean of milk, the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King, etc.
The most special attractions here are Ta Prohm, having 54 towers adorned with more than 200 smiling Avolokitesvara faces, and Bayon Temple, a stunning forest temple that has remained mostly unexplored since it was found and still exudes a lot of mystique.
Afternoon
This afternoon, spend time in Angkor Wat, the most well-known of all the temples on the plain of Angkor. The 81-hectare temple complex is equivalent in scale to Beijing's Imperial Palace. The five towers of Angkor Wat stand in for the five summits of Meru; the encircling moat depicts the ocean beyond; and the enclosing wall, the mountains at the frontier of the earth.
After your tour, you'll be transferred back to your accommodation.
